Whatever time you have to offer, BGC Cochrane & Area has an option to fit your schedule and availability. With multiple programs and events to choose from there are many engaging ways to become an integral part of BGCCA. BGC Cochrane & Area has been an organization central to the Cochrane community for over 20 years, a feat that would not have been possible without the dedicated work of our amazing volunteers. To us, our volunteers are every bit as important as any club member or staff, and we cannot thank them enough.
BGCCA offers exciting chances to learn new skills, meet new people, all while working together to achieve something meaningful. We believe everyone has something to offer our programs, while developing their own unique abilities, and is it the contributions of our volunteers that make our programs so special. For youth looking to gain valuable experience and useful knowledge, volunteering with BGCCA is a great place to start.
We are currently looking for Mentors to provide tutoring. If you would like to connect with youth and help contribute to youth success in school then we would love to hear from you! We often need adults or peers (grade 10-12) to support with Math and Science homework or test/exam prep. Our tutoring program is a great way to be part of our Club, meet new people, gain volunteer hours and build a solid reference.
Our Junior Chef program is seeking a volunteer to help in the kitchen alongside a Youth Worker. This fun program is offered on Tuesdays after school at our 5th Ave Cochrane location, Wednesdays at the Bearspaw Community Centre and Thursday at the Bragg Creek Community Centre. The Junior Chef volunteer could be a guest chef for one or two weeks or commit to being a part of the program weekly. Share your expertise or passion for cooking and help youth build valuable life skills and independence in the kitchen.
We have a variety of ways to be involved;
